Kids and adults alike love cookies. Embrace the slower pace, crank the holiday music, and bake a variety of Christmas cookies. What better memory than seeing the joy on your kids’ faces while they create cookies at the cabin. Be sure to take a couple pics for keepsake or to share. But not in the moment, savor that and share another time.

3.Get your Tree near your Cabin

If you’re heading up for Christmas, don’t haul a tree.Either pack a saw to cut your own tree or stop and decorate a live pine or other evergreen on your property. Do you have an elderly neighbor who might appreciate a decked out Christmas tree on their property? You’ll never know unless you ask.

 They’ll hold frozen meals on the way up and serve as additional outside food storage while you’re there. When you’re ready to leave, they make an easy-to-clean transport for cabin leftovers that can’t be eaten.

Use them – many come in holiday scents like pine, holly berry or cinnamon – or simply purchase a package of tapers.
